Jason E. Squire teaching industry professionals at Beijing Film Academy.

His two-day presentation “Inside the Movie Business” was part of

"The International Training Workshop of

TV and Movie Industry Financial Investment."

Participants included chairmen, presidents and directors of

investment and media companies.

Travel featured a visit to The Great Wall at Badaling.

Squire signs the “Wall of Honor” at Beijing Film Academy,

which features signatures of alumni and honored guests.

Participants were CEOs, chairmen or general managers

of media companies based in

Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Taipei.

A tour of Guangzhou included a visit to the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.

Jason E. Squire presenting “A Potential Web-Based Business Model for Digital Movies” to the Alumni Association of 

Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business

in Beijing, China.

The CKGSB inviation happened to coincide with publication in Beijing  of Prof. Squire’s scholarly article 

“An Introduction to DIY Movie Marketing and Distributing"

in Film Art (issue 2.2012), the academic journal of

China Film Association.


His initial research on the subject was first presented at the annual UCLA/Bruce Mallen Scholars and Practitioners Conference and Workshop in Motion Picture Industry Studies, a gathering of global scholars in the field sponsored by UCLA Anderson School of Management’s Center for Managing Enterprises in Media, Entertainment and Sports (MEMES).

Squire visited Tiananmen Square and the Heavenly Gate to the Forbidden City, and also the offices of the China Film Association.


 


 

Squire lecturing on “Movie Business Essentials” at the Shanghai Library.

He designed and presented a workshop “Introduction to Creative Movie Development and Marketing” held at the DeTao building on the campus of Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts.

Jason E. Squire was inducted into the DeTao Masters Academy as “Master of Entertainment Industry Studies.”

Jason E. Squire was honored at a handprint ceremony at the Beijing International Film Festival, along with other invited dignitaries, including Bak-Ming Wong, founder of Pegasis Motion Pictures Ltd. and Finola Dwyer, producer of Brooklyn

 

He presented a keynote at at The Charm of Comedy” segment of the Summit on the Beauty of Film. His presentation “English-Language Movie Comedy Traditions” was delivered at the China National Film Museum.
